Texas Genealogy Events
There are many genealogy and family history related meetings, seminars and conferences that take place locally throughout the year. We will be posting those we know about and if you have others, please let us know so we can post them. We are also posting local genealogical meetings. Unless otherwise noted, these meetings are free and open to the public!!
Collin County Genealogical Society
We have a DNA Interest Group that meets on the first Tuesday of each month. We have a Legacy Users Group that meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month. And we are adding a Microsoft OneNote for Genealogy User Group that will meet on the third Monday of each month.
All monthly meetings (see below) are held the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the first floor meeting room of the Haggard Library, 2501 Coit Road, Plano, Texas. 11 September 2019, How to Start Doing Genealogy. This will include presentations from current officers on using census data, finding vital records, interviewing relatives, using Find A Grave and learning from your DNA.
9 October 2019, In Their Footsteps. Presenter: The Genealogical Tourist, David Appleton. He will also include a little bit of information about Rosie the Riveter Society.
